Water Experiments

Image
As part of Water Week and Science Week , we decided to conduct some experiments using water.  We investigated whether an egg would float or sink in salt water.  What is your prediction?  We also investigated air pressure using a glass of water and a piece of card.  We filled the glass of water to the top and place a piece of card on top , creating a seal. Then we turned the glass upside down without holding onto the card...... Do you think the card stayed on the glass? Check out our pictures to find out..... Next we investigated illusions using light, a glass of water and paper! We drew two left-pointing arrows on a piece of paper and then put a clear, empty glass between us and the arrows. We poured water into the glass and something unexpected happened.  Can you guess what?

Go Wild Nature Camp

We were delighted to participate in the 'Go Wild Nature Camp' as part of Science Week 2017. We investigated freshwater ecosystems and their inhabitants.  We were very interested in investigating  and classifying minibeasts .  Our class visited Merlin Woods to become aware of the different species of flora and fauna living there. We were thrilled to see a real vole close up!
